Abstract
- A comprehensive review conducted by researchers from Uttaranchal University in Dehradun, India, explores the various carcinogenic aspects of N-nitrosopiperidine (NPIP). NPIP is a potentially hazardous pollutant classified as a mutagenic and probable carcinogenic compound. It can be found in a variety of matrices, including latex products, agricultural chemicals, cosmetic items, chlorinated water, alcoholic beverages, spices, and food products. The review discusses the formation of NPIP, its stability, metabolic activation, and its role in inducing different types of cancers in animal models. The researchers also highlight preventive measures and removal techniques to limit exposure to NPIP. [Extracted from the article]
