Abstract

A research report from Fujian University of Technology in Fuzhou, People's Republic of China discusses the challenges of accurately segmenting vessel regions in complex arteriovenous fistula (AVF) ultrasound images. The researchers propose a novel model called residual pyramidal attention UNet (RPA-UNet) for AVF ultrasound image segmentation, which incorporates enhancements such as residual architecture network, pyramidal convolution, attention mechanism, and combined loss function. The effectiveness of RPA-UNet was validated through experiments on a clinical AVF ultrasound image dataset, achieving high performance metrics. The researchers conclude that RPA-UNet has significant potential for applications in complex AVF ultrasound image segmentation tasks. [Extracted from the article]
