Abstract

A recent study conducted at the University of Life Sciences Lublin in Poland investigated the effects of pregabalin, a medication used to treat neurosis, anxiety disorders, and neuropathic pain, on the development of Lucilia sericata flies. The study found that pregabalin prolonged the life cycle of the flies and caused a decrease in body weight and increased mortality of the larvae and pupae. The research contributes to a better understanding of the mechanism of bioaccumulation and provides valuable information for estimating the time of death in forensic investigations. The study has been peer-reviewed and published in the journal Medycyna Weterynaryjna. [Extracted from the article]
