Abstract

A recent report from Utrecht University in the Netherlands discusses the use of a customized titanium implant called the acetabular rim extension (ACE-X) for treating canine hip dysplasia. The study involved 34 dogs and found that the ACE-X implant effectively increased femoral head coverage, eliminated subluxation, and provided long-term pain relief with minimal complications. The research supports the ACE-X implant as a valuable alternative treatment for canine hip dysplasia, benefiting over 90% of the study population. [Extracted from the article]
