Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers from Guangzhou Medical University in China explored the diagnostic value of g-glutamyl transpeptidase to platelet ratio (GPR) combined with triglyceride (TG) in identifying non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The study involved 14,415 individuals who underwent an annual physical examination. The results showed that high levels of GPR and TG were risk factors for NAFLD, while high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) was a protective factor. The combination of GPR and TG demonstrated good clinical value in diagnosing NAFLD, with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.855, sensitivity of 83.45%, and specificity of 73.56%.
