Abstract
- The Punjab Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has decided to amend the Punjab Panchayat Election Rules to prohibit the use of party symbols in panchayat polls. This amendment, which has been approved and will be presented in the upcoming Assembly session, means that contestants will no longer be able to use political party symbols during rural body elections. Additionally, the Cabinet has approved an increase in the number of Punjab Civil Services officers and has sanctioned the creation of a sessions court in Malerkotla, as well as the filling of vacant doctor positions.
