Abstract

This article, titled "Switching from oral ropinirole to ropinirole transdermal patch in patients with Parkinson's Disease: an observational study," discusses the efficacy and safety of switching from oral ropinirole to a ropinirole transdermal patch (TP) in patients with Parkinson's Disease. The study found that discontinuation of ropinirole TPs may occur due to poor efficacy early in the initiation phase, and the dose of the patch is established based on the equivalent conversion of the area under the blood concentration-time curve (AUC) of oral ropinirole. The study emphasizes the need for patients to be informed about the delay in the onset of efficacy when switching to ropinirole TPs. [Extracted from the article]
