Abstract
- The article explores the concept of embolic stroke of undetermined source (ESUS) and the role of genetic factors in ESUS patients. ESUS is diagnosed when a stroke occurs without a clear cause. Genetic variants, such as SERPINE1 and MTHFR, are being studied as potential determinants of ESUS. The article discusses the associations between these variants and increased stroke risk, as well as their implications for prevention and treatment. Additional research is needed to fully comprehend the prevalence and impact of these genetic variants in ESUS patients. The document also provides a list of references to scientific articles covering various topics related to stroke and thrombophilia, offering valuable information for researchers and those interested in understanding the mechanisms and risk factors associated with stroke and thrombophilia.
