Abstract

This article provides information on recent grants and gifts related to women in higher education. The Oklahoma Breastfeeding Resource Center at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences campus has received a $250,000 grant to expand its services to rural hospitals. Emory University's Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing has received $1.49 million in federal funding to train sexual assault nurse examiners. The University of Pittsburgh and the University of Wisconsin-Madison have been awarded $3.8 million to research gender differences in response to respiratory viruses. The University of Texas at El Paso has received a $2.5 million grant to study improved treatments for women trying to quit smoking. Lastly, Texas Woman's University's Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business and Entrepreneurship has received a $30 million gift to establish an institute focused on innovation and entrepreneurship.
