Abstract
- This article discusses the history of a library in Newtown, Ohio, which closed in 1821 but retained its charter. The library's charter was twice revived, first in 1841 and then again in 1846, as a note-issuing institution. However, these notes were of questionable character and were considered fraudulent. The article highlights the attempts made by different groups to revive the library and issue paper money, but ultimately these attempts were discovered and terminated. [Extracted from the article]
