Abstract

This article discusses the methods and tools used for generating and analyzing data from polyploid species in plant sciences. Despite decades of research, there are still unexplored frontiers at the molecular, phylogenetic, ecological, and evolutionary levels due to the complexity of multiple genomes in a single nucleus. The special issue features eight articles that provide new insights and techniques for studying polyploid lineages, including methods for determining ploidy levels, analyzing genomic data, understanding subgenome dynamics, and examining phenotypic changes. These advancements will accelerate research into the nature and impact of polyploidy in plant taxa. [Extracted from the article]
