Abstract

A recent report from East China Normal University discusses research findings on osteosarcomas, a rare malignant tumor that primarily affects children and adolescents. The study aimed to identify potential therapeutic targets for the treatment of osteosarcoma, as no efficient target has been validated in clinical practice. The researchers designed and synthesized photo-cross-linking probes based on a lead compound and identified DDX5 as a potential target protein using an activity-based protein profiling strategy. Further experiments supported the finding that the compound binds to DDX5 and induces its degradation, affecting cell proliferation and migration through the PI3K-AKT-mTOR signaling pathway. The research concludes that DDX5 is a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of osteosarcoma. [Extracted from the article]
