Abstract

A new study conducted by researchers at Wroclaw Medical University in Poland explores the effects of combined antiretroviral therapy (cART) on individuals living with HIV/AIDS. The study examines the impact of five years of cART on various parameters related to carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, inflammation, and immune function. The results indicate that individuals receiving cART exhibit changes in the expression of certain parameters compared to the control group. Further research is needed to understand the clinical implications of these findings and their relevance to the development of HIV-related comorbidities. [Extracted from the article]
