Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, Poland, aimed to assess the relationship between lipoprotein (a) (Lp(a)) concentrations and lipid disorders and other cardiovascular (CV) risk factors in patients without diagnosed cardiovascular disease. The study involved 200 primary-care patients and found that elevated Lp(a) concentrations were not associated with the number of conventional CV risk factors or other major lipid parameters. The researchers concluded that Lp(a) concentration is not related to the occurrence of lipid disorders or other CV risk factors. This study provides valuable insights into the understanding of cardiovascular diseases and conditions. [Extracted from the article]
