Abstract

A recent study conducted by the Department of Cardiology has found that serum uric acid (SUA) levels can be a critical biomarker for predicting outcomes in acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The study involved patients with AMI admitted to a healthcare center in Maharashtra over a year and a half. The researchers found that elevated SUA levels were associated with higher mortality rates and increased cardiovascular complications in AMI patients. This research suggests that SUA could be a cost-effective and readily available prognostic marker for assessing myocardial damage in AMI patients. [Extracted from the article]
