Abstract
- Researchers from Nanchang University in China have conducted a study on the antioxidant activities of certain dietary phytochemicals in cardiac cells. The study found that combinations of phytochemicals, such as lycopene, lutein, chlorogenic acid, and delphinidin, displayed synergistic effects in terms of antioxidant activity. These combinations were shown to enhance the accumulation of Nrf2 in the nucleus and the expression of downstream antioxidant enzymes. The study suggests that these phytochemical combinations could contribute to the restoration of cellular redox homeostasis and improve diet quality. [Extracted from the article]
