Abstract

A recent study conducted at the China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University in Changchun, People's Republic of China, focused on a rare malignant tumor called malignant gastric glomus tumor (GGT). The researchers reported a case of malignant GGT with vascular invasion and provided a 5-year postoperative follow-up. This case is significant because it is the first reported instance of malignant GGT with vascular invasion without recurrence 5 years after surgery. The study concluded that negative margin surgery can be an effective treatment for malignant GGT without distant metastasis, even in the presence of vascular invasion. [Extracted from the article]
