Abstract
- A recent study conducted in Teramo, Italy, focused on understanding the factors that contribute to the severity of bluetongue, a viral disease that affects ruminants. The researchers used machine learning to analyze data from infected sheep and identified five key processes that influence the disease outcome: virus load and replication, modulation of the host immune response, pro-inflammatory responses, vascular damage, and immunosuppression. The study highlights the potential of machine learning in uncovering the mechanisms behind arbovirus infections and could contribute to the development of therapies and prognostic markers.
