Abstract
- A recent report from the University of California Irvine discusses a case of acquired factor XI deficiency associated with lupus anticoagulant. The report highlights the importance of recognizing factor assay interference in the presence of a known lupus anticoagulant inhibitor. The patient in the case study had a positive lupus anticoagulant and inconsistent factor XI activity results, which emphasizes the need for strategies to mitigate potentially erroneous results. This research has been peer-reviewed and published in the journal Blood Coagulation & Fibrinolysis. [Extracted from the article]
