Abstract
- The article highlights the challenges and strategies for vocabulary acquisition among English language learners (ELLs) in higher education. Topics include the limitations of vocabulary activities that lack contextual application, the need for curriculum updates to better address the academic language development of ELLs, and the use of storytelling as a method to leverage what ELLs bring to the classroom rather than focusing on deficiencies.
