Abstract

This article provides concise summaries of recent studies published in the European Journal of Heart Failure that are relevant to heart failure specialists. The studies cover various topics, including the importance of screening for malnutrition in patients with advanced heart failure, the role of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors in patients with type 2 diabetes and heart failure, the safety of diuretic use in pregnant women with structural heart disease, and the importance of optimal heart failure management after mitral transcatheter edge-to-edge repair. The findings highlight the poor prognosis for malnourished heart failure patients, the consistent benefits of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors in improving clinical outcomes, the safety of loop diuretic use during pregnancy, and the factors associated with heart failure hospitalization risk after mitral transcatheter edge-to-edge repair.
