Abstract
- This article discusses the association between C-reactive protein (CRP) and heart failure (HF). CRP is a marker of inflammation and has been found to be elevated in patients with HF. The article highlights a study that shows the addition of CRP to a risk score improves the prediction of 30-day mortality in patients with acute HF. The study suggests that inflammation may play a stronger role in acute HF compared to chronic HF. The findings of this study may lead to further research on anti-inflammatory therapies for acute HF.
