Abstract

Researchers from King's College London have conducted a rapid systematic review to investigate the relationship between body dissatisfaction (BD) and diabulimia, an eating disorder associated with type 1 diabetes. The review analyzed four cross-sectional studies and found that BD was related to diabulimia, with variations observed between different sexes of diabetics. The researchers emphasized the need for standardized and comprehensive BD questionnaires to improve screening, detection, and management of diabulimia. This study provides valuable insights into the psychological and diabetic aspects of diabulimia and highlights the importance of addressing body dissatisfaction in diabetic patients.
