Abstract
- A recent study conducted by the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery examined the efficacy of atrial fibrillation (AF) predictors, specifically the MVP ECG risk score, in patients who underwent coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG) using either a single internal thoracic artery (ITA) or bilateral ITA. The study included 84 isolated CABG patients, with 48.8% receiving a single ITA and 51.2% receiving bilateral ITA. The incidence of AF was similar in both groups, and the presence of diabetes mellitus, high blood glucose levels, and specific electrocardiogram findings were identified as potential predisposing factors for postoperative AF. The MVP ECG risk score was found to be effective as a marker for AF and can be utilized in surgical patient groups. [Extracted from the article]
