Abstract
- A report from Paolo Giaccone University Hospital in Palermo, Italy discusses the potential role of Magnetic Resonance-guided Focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS) in the treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders. MRgFUS is a non-invasive procedure that uses ultrasound guided by magnetic resonance imaging to treat conditions like essential tremor and tremor-dominant Parkinson's disease. The report suggests that MRgFUS may also be a safe and promising treatment option for psychiatric disorders that are resistant to conventional therapies. However, more research is needed to establish MRgFUS as a minimally invasive procedure for these patients. [Extracted from the article]
