Abstract
- This document is a memorial for Randy Cebul, MD, a health services researcher who made significant contributions to medical decision making and healthcare improvement in northeast Ohio. Randy was born in Cleveland in 1950 and attended Denison University and Yale Medical School. He joined the faculty of Case Western Reserve University and became the Chief of General Medicine at MetroHealth Medical Center. Randy was known for his mentorship and commitment to building a pipeline of health services researchers. He also played a key role in creating the Better Health Partnership, a collaborative effort to improve healthcare in the region. Randy's work focused on reducing disparities in healthcare and improving population health outcomes. He published groundbreaking research on individualized decision analysis, electronic health records, and the cost of health insurance.
