Abstract

Bangladesh is facing turmoil after a coup d'etat led to the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed. The coup was sparked by protests against employment quotas for descendants of freedom fighters in the country's war of independence. The military, which had previously supported Hasina, stepped in and declared an interim government. However, unrest and violence have continued, with attacks on Awami League buildings and the Hindu minority. Restoring democracy and rebuilding public trust in institutions will be crucial for Bangladesh's future. [Extracted from the article]
