Abstract

The Sichuan-Tibet traffic corridor (STTC) is a critical transportation route in China that spans the western Sichuan Basin and the Tibetan Plateau. This area has a complex geological history and presents challenges for infrastructure construction due to its high seismic intensity and extreme elevation. Recent research has made advancements in addressing these challenges and supporting infrastructure development and mineral resource exploitation. The second volume of this Research Topic focuses on active faults, magmatic-hydrothermal activities, and the tectonic evolution history of the Tibetan Plateau within the STTC. Additionally, it explores the diverse range of mineral resources in the area. The findings from these studies will contribute to further geological investigations and resource assessments in the STTC. [Extracted from the article]
