Abstract

The article provides a summary of several auctions held by Warwick & Warwick, Noonans, Fellows, and Baldwin's in July. These auctions featured a range of items including coins, banknotes, and antiquities. Notable sales included a Samoa promissory note, a Hong Kong proof half dollar, and an Anglo-Saxon gold sword pommel cap. Rare banknotes such as a Bank of England £100 note and a £1,000 specimen signed by Ernest M. Harvey also fetched high prices. Historical medals and crowns were also sold, including a Crown of William IV and a Gothic crown of Victoria. The auctions by Noonans included British coins such as an Anglo-Saxon penny and an Edward VI half sovereign, while Fellows auctioned coins like an Edward VII Five Pounds and an Elizabeth II 100 pounds. Baldwin's auction included a Japan Meiji copper pattern Yen and an India Princely States gold presentation 1 ½ Mohur. Noonans also auctioned the South Downs Collection of Shillings, with notable sales including a George III pattern shilling and a Victoria second young head shilling. [Extracted from the article]
