Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers from Anhui Medical University in Hefei, China explored the relationship between Hoffmann's sign and cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM). Hoffmann's sign is a physical examination commonly used in clinical practice for CSM patients, but its underlying mechanisms have not been thoroughly investigated. The study involved 76 CSM patients and 40 healthy controls who underwent multimodal MRI. The results showed that patients with a positive Hoffmann's sign exhibited significant reductions in certain brain and spinal cord parameters compared to patients with a negative sign and healthy controls. The study suggests that neuroimaging indicators could serve as biomarkers for assessing neuronal damage in CSM patients. [Extracted from the article]
