Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, explored the postoperative vascular outcomes of patients who underwent flap repairs after Mohs micrographic surgery on facial tumors. The study found that nasal flap repairs were associated with increased postoperative vascular changes, specifically telangiectasias. This research suggests the need for improved preoperative patient counseling and the possibility of early laser treatment after nasal Mohs micrographic surgery. The study was published in Dermatologic Surgery and more information can be obtained from the Department of Dermatology at the Mayo Clinic. [Extracted from the article]
