Abstract
- A study conducted by Yarmouk University in Irbid, Jordan, examined the relationship between premenstrual syndrome (PMS) severity, vitamin D levels, calcium consumption, and psychological symptoms among women with musculoskeletal pain (MSP). The study found that women with MSP had lower vitamin D levels, lower calcium consumption, higher anxiety and depression scores, and more severe premenstrual symptoms compared to healthy controls. Deficient vitamin D and calcium consumption were associated with abnormal anxiety and depression scores and increased severity of premenstrual symptoms. The researchers suggest that further studies are needed to determine if vitamin D and calcium supplements can alleviate MSP and premenstrual symptoms. [Extracted from the article]
