Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Jagiellonian University Medical College examined the phytochemical composition and biological activities of hemp sprouts, leaves, and flowers from the Sofia variety. The study found that sprouts contained chlorogenic, caffeic, and gallic acids, while leaves and flowers contained cannflavins A and B, chlorogenic acid, p-coumaric acid, and ferulic acid. Leaves exhibited higher antioxidant potential compared to flowers and sprouts, and all samples showed anti-inflammatory effects. The researchers concluded that hemp sprouts, leaves, and flowers have potential as chemopreventive products in the future. [Extracted from the article]
