Abstract

A recent report from Artvin Coruh University explores the relationship between social media addiction (SMA) and anxiety disorders in adolescents. The study found that SMA tends to increase in adolescents who have high levels of social desirability and social appearance anxiety (SAA). The research involved 484 students from secondary schools in Hatay province, with data collected using the Social Media Addiction Scale, Social Appearance Anxiety Scale, and Social Desirability Scale. The findings indicate that social desirability and SAA significantly predict SMA. The study also revealed that girls are more concerned about their social appearance compared to boys.
