Abstract
- This article examines the concept of authenticity and its different interpretations in various aspects of life. It acknowledges that authenticity can be subjective and found in unexpected places. The article also delves into the historical roots of the pursuit of authenticity and how it has been co-opted by capitalism. It raises concerns about the blending of work and personal life in modern society and its impact on individuals. The article concludes by discussing the false pursuit of authenticity in education and its role in perpetuating dominant ideologies. Additionally, it explores the relationship between authenticity and art, as well as critiques the commercialization and superficiality of the term in addressing larger societal issues.
