Abstract

This comprehensive study explores the intricate relationships between nutrient conditions and the growth patterns of Thalassiosira weissflogii and Chaetoceros calcitrans. Distinct flasks, subjected to varied nutrient compositions, were monitored for cell density and specific growth rates over a span of 168 hours. T. weissflogii exhibited distinct responses to F/2 Guillard media, with notable changes in cell density and growth rates, while C. calcitrans showcased nuanced dynamics under different nutrient conditions. The molecular confirmation, ITS gene sequence were done for the two microalgae strains that were bound to marine. High percentage similarity in the BLAST results of the microalgae sequences identified the species as Thalassiosira weissflogii (99.84%) and Chaetoceros calcitrans (99.79%). To accurately identify microalgae at the genus and species levels, a combination of the classical and genetic approaches is essential. The findings offer valuable insights into optimizing microalgae cultivation for biotechnological and environmental applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
