Abstract

A study conducted at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden explored the association between socioeconomic factors and long-term mortality risk in patients who underwent transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). The study used data from the SWEDEHEART registry and found that patients with lower educational levels had a higher risk of mortality compared to those with higher education levels. However, being unmarried or not cohabiting did not increase the risk of mortality. The study suggests the need for strategies to increase health literacy and social support for patients with unfavorable socioeconomic factors. [Extracted from the article]
