Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine in Japan explored the effects of oral betaine supplementation on blood pressure in rats. The study found that rats who were given betaine supplements had significantly lower blood pressure compared to those in the control group. Additionally, the betaine supplementation was associated with improved endothelial function and lower levels of angiotensin I converting enzyme. However, the long-term effects of betaine supplementation on blood pressure and serum lipid levels require further investigation. This research provides valuable insights into the potential benefits of betaine in managing hypertension. [Extracted from the article]
