Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers from the University of Veterinary Sciences in Brno, Czech Republic, investigated the nephrotoxicity of suxibuzone, a prodrug of the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug phenylbutazone, in horses. The study found that treatment with suxibuzone at the recommended dosage can induce acute kidney injury (AKI) in systemically healthy euhydrated horses. The researchers used serum creatinine levels and other monitoring parameters to assess the presence of AKI in the treated horses. This study provides important insights into the potential risks associated with suxibuzone treatment in horses. [Extracted from the article]
