Abstract

A systematic review conducted by researchers at Leeds Beckett University examined the use of the Endometriosis Health Profiles (EHPs) in measuring the quality of life outcomes in women with endometriosis. The EHP-30 and EHP-5 are patient-reported outcome measures that assess the health-related quality of life of women living with endometriosis. The review included 139 papers and found that the EHPs were most frequently used to measure the outcomes of medical and surgical treatments. Overall, most women reported improvements in quality of life after treatment, with surgical interventions resulting in the longest-lasting improvements. The EHPs were found to be reliable, valid, acceptable, and responsive tools, but further assessment is needed in diverse populations and routine clinical care. [Extracted from the article]
