Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Khartoum in Sudan has found a rare occurrence of sagittal sinus thrombosis and haemorrhagic infarction with dengue fever. The study highlights the growing recognition of neurological symptoms associated with dengue virus (DENV) infection, some of which can be lethal if left untreated. The researchers presented a case of an elderly Sudanese patient who developed sagittal sinus thrombosis, which was later complicated by ischemic stroke with haemorrhagic transformation and status epilepticus. This study emphasizes the need for further research to validate dengue as a pathogenic mechanism of ischemic stroke. [Extracted from the article]
