Abstract

A new report from researchers at the National University of Cordoba in Argentina explores the relationship between impulsivity, mental health, and alcohol and marijuana use. The study surveyed 1,507 Argentinean citizens about their alcohol and marijuana use, as well as their impulsivity traits, psychological distress, and emotion regulation strategies. The findings suggest that individuals with higher levels of impulsivity, depression symptoms, or lower use of emotional regulation abilities may be at a higher risk for alcohol or marijuana use. The study concludes that interventions aimed at enhancing emotion regulation could benefit individuals with risk factors for drug misuse. [Extracted from the article]
