Abstract

The article discusses Hirayama Disease, a rare myelopathy that affects the cervical spinal cord and causes muscle weakness and atrophy in one hand and forearm. The disease is characterized by asymmetric growth and does not involve sensory loss. The article emphasizes the role of neuroradiologists in confirming the diagnosis through imaging techniques such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and correlating the findings with electromyography. Early diagnosis and intervention are crucial in halting the progression of the disease, although there is currently no consensus on treatment. [Extracted from the article]
