Abstract

The article explores the issue of intraoperative hypotension (IOH) and the lack of a standardized definition for it. Different studies and research papers use varying definitions and thresholds for IOH, which affects reported outcomes and management strategies. The authors stress the need for a consistent approach to reporting and managing IOH. They discuss the importance of both absolute and relative thresholds, as well as the duration of hypotension. The article suggests that a personalized approach and considering a 20% fall from baseline may be the most effective way to define IOH. [Extracted from the article]
