Abstract

The article discusses the strong outlook for the poultry sectors in South and Southeast Asia. The regions are expected to account for 50% of the growth in Asia's demand for poultry meat by the end of the decade, with their markets forecasted to be 30% bigger by 2030. This growth is driven by expanding economies, rising populations and incomes, and a shift in consumers' animal protein preferences. The article also highlights the changing preferences of Asian consumers, the importance of local production for food security, and the recovery of the local poultry industry after the COVID-19 pandemic.
