Abstract

The article discusses health and reproductive injustices experienced by Puerto Rican mothers in the U.S. as of July 2024. Topics covered include their historical roots in colonization and systemic neglect, the determinants of pre- and perinatal health disparities, and the multifaceted issues like provider challenges in care delivery and physician shortage that impact peronatal health. Also noted are evidence-based interventions like telemedicine services, community health workers and doulas.
