Abstract

This article is an editor's message introducing a special issue of Library Leadership & Management focused on library reorganizations. The issue includes three case studies that explore the challenges and opportunities of library reorganizations. The first case study discusses a reorganization in a special collections department, highlighting the planning process, communication strategies, and lessons learned. The second case study examines the formation of a Metadata and Information Technology Division, using a collaborative model to unify departments and improve patron services. The third case study explores a series of incremental reorganizations at a regional comprehensive university, emphasizing inclusive communication, training, and celebrating successes. The editor hopes that readers will find these case studies insightful and informative. [Extracted from the article]
