Abstract

Clostridioides difficile (CD) is a common cause of infective diarrhea worldwide and can lead to increased morbidity, mortality, and extended hospital stays among hospitalized patients. However, there are still many uncertainties surrounding CDI, including the clinical spectrum, transmission routes, molecular pathogenesis, and treatment options. The Special Issue on Clostridioides difficile Infection includes various research articles that aim to address these open issues. Some notable findings include the correlation between COVID-19 and CDI, clinical determinants predicting CDI among hospitalized patients with chronic kidney disease, and the efficacy of fidaxomicin and bezlotoxumab for CDI treatment and prevention. This Special Issue serves as a comprehensive resource for scholars in the field of CDI. [Extracted from the article]
