Abstract

This work showcases a real-time audio-to-sign language converter, which converts audio taken as input to IndianSign Language (ISL). Sign language is the primary source of communication for a person who has difficulty hearing, speaking, or is dumb. This paper focuses on bridging the gap between such people and helping in their everyday lives. Since every human being is not known to have knowledge of sign language, we propose a system in this paper that aims touse the latest technologies of machine learning and natural language processing in order to overcome this situation. The primary focus of this is speech-to-sign language translation. We propose a system that takes audio as input through means of Google Speech Recognition API and gives out Indian Sign Language equivalents of the audio in the form of a series ofimages or Graphics Interchange Format (GIFs). The use of this technique facilitates communication between deaf and ordinary people. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
