Abstract

Toyota Motor Corp. plans to build an electric vehicle battery plant in Fukuoka, Japan, and export the batteries to the rest of Asia, according to a report by Nikkei. The plant will be operated by Toyota's subsidiary, Primearth EV Energy, and will receive government subsidies. Toyota aims to improve its production capacity of electric vehicle batteries and has set ambitious targets to sell 1.5 million battery EVs annually by 2026 and 3.5 million by 2030. The new plant will be located near Toyota's Miyata plant, which produces Lexus vehicles primarily for export. [Extracted from the article]
